The cell and its environment- Diffusion- Definition, process, significant, demonstration & importance. Osmosis – Definition, biological significant. Heamolysis, Plasmolysis, Flaccidity and Turgidity.
PRACTICAL
(a)experiment to demonstrate diffusion in liquids [with the use of KMNO4]
(b)experiment to demonstrate haemolysis using the red blood cell
Cellular Respiration- Definition, aerobic (Catabolism& Kreb’s cycle) Anaerobic respiration, energy release
PRACTICAL
Experiment to show that carbon dioxide is produced during aerobic respiration
-experiment to show that germinating seeds produce heat energy
-experiment to show that there is oxygen uptake during aerobic respiration
-experiment to demonstrate anaerobic respiration by fermentation in yeast
